LARA Golf club Saturday competition
We need to ensure that booking a Saturday competition time spot is fair and equitable to all members.
We would like to encourage members to meet, play and mix with other members with the aim to grow the Lara golf community and connections between members.
Members can now book up to 4 in their group
THE PROCESS FOR COMPETITION BOOKINGS
- Members will be able to book a week in advance.
- Booking will open at 8:00 pm on Sunday afternoon the week before.
- Members not booking online can visit, or ring the club kiosk for a booking (any time after 10:00 am Monday).
- The Match and Play Committee can help anyone who needs assistance on how to do an online booking.
- Each member will be able to book three other players with them in their time slot. You will need to know their golf link number to complete the booking.
Please direct all feedback in a friendly and respectful manner. Poor behaviour regarding feedback will not be tolerated.

- Two person Ambrose - Guidelines and rules
- Players are required to play in pairs.
- Pairs will be created from the online booking list. Player 1 and player 2 are a team. Player 3 and 4 are a team. If you need this changed within your booking group, then you need to contact the kiosk beforehand. Eg: Player 1 and Player 4 want to play as a team, but this could not be entered on the booking sheet as the Player 2 position was already booked.
- Team handicaps are calculated by combining the handicaps of the 2 players and dividing by 4. Eg: 15 and 25 handicap = 40, divided by 4. Handicap is 10
- Each player must have a minimum of 6 tee shots.
- Each player hits off the tee, the best shot is selected, and the other player picks up their ball and plays from where their partners ball is.
- The players ball that is selected for each shot must be played from where it lies. The second player can place their ball within a cards length and no closer to the hole of the partners ball when on the fairway. When in the rough the ball must be dropped within a club length, no closer to the hole and on the putting green then both players must played from the same position.
- The stroke score for the hole is recorded on the score card.
- Cards must have the other team in their group on the scorecard or linked to the another team on the app.
- If you have 3 in your group, then one player will have to play in a social capacity or play the Ambrose as an individual.
